Located in a densely wooded area, 1,800 m above sea level and overlooking the Dolomites, FORESTIS is tucked away. The unique and extraordinary natural character of the area won over the owners to establish their spa in this special place.
With FORESTIS, owners Teresa and Stefan Hinteregger have fulfilled a long-held dream. Thanks to their international experience, they approach this place with fresh eyes and a multifaceted understanding of hospitality. Together with their team, they are hosts who love mindfulness for people and nature. The architecture is inspired by the same natural features that were once decisive in establishing this haven. Here, the excellent filtered water, air, sun and climate are reflected in equally authentic materials. Outside and inside, these natural materials are in harmony with each other, just like nature itself.
Think of yourself and stay authentic
The alpine location provides ideal conditions for maintaining health, strengthening the constitution and recovery according to preventive medicine and high-altitude medicine. In cooperation with experts, a wide range of retreat treatments has been developed to integrate the value of the environment and the effect of nature into preventive and healing measures. Thus, the location has positive effects on the body after only a short time. The suites also bring nature into the room. The natural materials and bright style reflect the tranquillity of the forest and surrounding nature. More than that, they are bathed in sunlight all day, offering the most ideal retreat. The kitchen was also responsive to the surrounding nature and local farmers. Thus, they provide ingredients brought to perfection, blending ancient traditions with the creativity of modern cuisine. This cooking philosophy always follows the principles of variety, naturalness and authenticity. ‘We are deeply connected to our homeland; this is where our roots are. This was our motivation to create something with FORESTIS that brings our beautiful region closer to people from all over the world. We wanted to remain authentic; this was important to us when doing something new. Many hoteliers only think about the guests. Stefan and I thought of ourselves while planning. We both travel a lot ourselves, so we kept thinking about what we would like best for the resort. The more you think about the guests in your concept planning, the less authentic it becomes. At the end of the day, the guests notice that too and therefore it makes no sense. We see ourselves as hosts who invite guests into their homes so they can relax. And guests only come because they are convinced of our idea and our way of life. And that's the whole idea behind it. That is what every hotelier developing a new concept should keep in mind: Think of yourself and stay authentic,’ we finally hear from the owners.
Architecture and design take a step back and leave the space and stage to nature. That is why they have oriented the suites, spa and restaurant to the south. Their restaurant is designed like a theatre - every guest should have a view of life. There is no place in FORESTIS from which you cannot see this natural spectacle. Many of their guests have already said that the sight of the mountain massifs, the nature, the play of colours took their breath away. Every day, the owners feel the same and they love that their guests feel the same. Images courtesy of Forestis
