We have previously written on our website and in our magazine about the various projects of real estate developer Triple Living and their activities in Nieuw Zuid. With a very central location and an eye-catching architecture, this project is an absolute hit: all sustainable, green and innovative initiatives designed by the biggest names in architecture. They are all helping to create a new and vibrant part of town that is car-free and therefore the perfect place to live and work.
Antwerp is building the district of the future: New South. Located on the banks of the Scheldt and next to the hip Zuid, this project is the showcase of sustainability and liveability. It should feel like living in a park. Future residents will be able to enjoy a unique view of the city. This new, lively city neighbourhood will feature shops, restaurants, a park, sports facilities, schools and service centres. In short, the place to be for entrepreneurs, families, students and architecture lovers. 
An innovative residential site that excels in sustainability.
Project developer Triple Living worked out the master plan together with the city and various architects. There is only room for the very best designs by award-winning (inter)national architects. This is the home base for many sustainable initiatives such as a centre for circular economy and green roofs on the buildings. Currently, Nieuw Zuid already has 1125 completed flats, assisted living facilities and student rooms. The Antwerp site also has four art galleries, four catering establishments, four playgrounds and a running track on the roof.
New South has many phenomenal buildings such as the Palazzo Verde, designed by the architect-urbanist Stefano Boeri. His stunning, groundbreaking green designs have brought him world fame. No less than 60% of the total surface area of Nieuw Zuid consists of greenery. The largest part is taken up by the park on the southeast side, which is equivalent to about six hectares. Meanwhile, 811 trees have already been planted, eighty of which are on the roof of Palazzo Verde. This reduces the building's CO2 emissions by five tonnes per year. You won't find a greener city neighbourhood soon. More than that, Nieuw Zuid translates as an innovative residential site that excels in sustainability. 
The various projects within Nieuw Zuid give you a beautiful view as far as the eye can see: overwhelming panoramas over the Scheldt, the city of Antwerp or the park. Large terraces, outdoor spaces and balconies ensure the ultimate enjoyment of these panoramic views. The ideal home for residents with an eye for design and who are looking for peace and quiet.
The greatest asset of Nieuw Zuid is the combination of living in a city and the proximity of so much greenery. It is like living in the largest garden in Antwerp, designed by landscape architect Bas Smets, but without the maintenance. With all the residential projects currently underway in New South, real estate developer Triple Living remains on track to complete the works by 2025.
