Soft House is a project by the Ukrainian studio Sivak+Partners and houses a large family with their servants. The rooms were designed so that the family can spend a lot of time together without losing sight of everyone's personal comfort.
Sivak+Partners is an interior design studio, with offices in Kiev and Odessa. In their projects, they combine business, art and comfort, and their design knows no boundaries. The practice likes to carry out daring projects, such as high-rise architecture or offices covering thousands of square metres. But they also know how to bring small-scale projects to a successful conclusion, such as the house that we are highlighting here.
Soft House is the name of a private home, located in Saudi Arabia, for which Sivak+Partners did the interior design. The house is home to a large family with their servants. It was important to create a cosy and cool place where the residents can relax and completely unwind. The communal and private areas were designed so that the family can spend a lot of time together without losing sight of everyone's personal comfort.
The design brings the warmth of the landscape into the interior.
The design brings the warmth of the landscape into the interior, so that there is no colour contrast between inside and outside. The sun's rays penetrate the living room and create a very cosy atmosphere.
The dining area consists of six Andreu World chairs and a custom-made granite table. In the same room, the steel cabinet adds a unique and high-tech accent element. A nice contrast was created between the natural stone on the wall and the brushed steel, and the sunlight also plays a beautiful game on the doors of this cabinet. The Ingo Maurer chandelier forms a perfect contrast to the table: the thin and smooth lamp floats in the air like a bird above the rocks. The workspace is a quiet part of the house. The studio wanted to preserve this tranquillity by using similar colours and textures for everything. They also added a smooth form to the staircase to give everything a soft and smooth look.
Within the sleeping area, the master bedroom has its own dressing room and bathroom. All surfaces here are covered in micro-concrete. The house also has several bathrooms for the children and the staff. The children also have their own living room, where they can play and watch TV.
