- Interior
Good proportions, powerful materials, and plenty of daylight: these are just some of the requirements the Spanish X Arquitectos sets for each new project. This house in Alfinach meets all those goals, and much more. We show you how they achieved that result and what makes this residence so special.
The Valencia-based design studio tries to get the most out of every project and stimulate the team's creativity time and again. They believe that a balanced architecture is essential to achieve a successful outcome. It is an approach they also followed when designing this home in Alfinach, one of Valencia's most renowned neighbourhoods. The residence was completely renovated for a new family that wanted a home where personal development and living together are possible.
An ecological, light-coloured lime wall covering creates an elegant atmosphere
The house has three floors and a large garden. The latter immediately was an important element for the clients, as they wanted to enjoy their surroundings as much as possible. Inside, natural aspects are emphasised by choosing neutral colours, large and light spaces, and functional furnishings. The use of natural light was maximised to achieve a soft result. In this way, the dark wooden floor does not look too heavy, but creates an interesting contrast with the other colours in the interior. An ecological, light-coloured lime wall covering creates an elegant atmosphere. To further enhance the feeling of spaciousness, superfluous elements such as doors and cupboards were kept to a minimum. The basement floor received a thorough renovation, which resulted in a multifunctional space where various activities can be carried out and where there is room for a gym. As this floor has a separate entrance, it is completely separate from the rest of the residence. The living areas, such as the living and dining room with fireplace, the kitchen, a guest room, and a fully glazed reading room are located on the ground floor. On the first floor we find the bedrooms, which have private terraces and impressive views of the Mediterranean. The organic shapes and warm beige and brown colours, interspersed with some white tones, make this property a luxurious home base. At the same time, it also feels very cosy and comfortable, and this is mainly due to the functional, minimalist furnishings.
