Jorge Teixeira Dias Architects is a Portuguese architecture studio founded in 2010. The firm realises projects ranging from exhibition spaces and furniture to residences. From all the talented studios and beautiful interiors you can find all over the world, this office caught our attention.
The firm was founded by Jorge Teixeira Dias, born in Coimbra. He graduated from the Department of Architecture of the University of Coimbra and later started working with João Mendes Ribeiro. In 2010 he started his own company under the name Jorge Teixeira Dias Architects.
The designs are minimalistic with a wooden accent here and there.
Teixeira Dias's designs aim to create a dialogue between contemporary and traditional elements. His obsession with details lifts every project to a higher level by making optimal use of the materials. Jorge Teixeira Dias Architects has already won several awards and nominations from renowned architectural institutions in Portugal. Among others, it has received an award in the National Wood Architecture Prize, was recently nominated for the Premis FAD Award and received an honourable mention in the Diogo de Castilho Architecture Prize. The architectural office's designs are minimalistic with a wooden accent here and there. White, grey and brown shades are used in particular. The materiality strongly depends on the project but in general the designs of Teixeira Dias Architects include smooth white walls, wooden floors and/or furniture, a calacatta marble accent and simplistic cabinets. Decoration is unnecessary in the minimalistic spaces. Images courtesy of José Campos, The Leitmotiv, Jorge Teixeira Dias Architects, Do Mal O Menos
