- Architecture & development
The architecture of this project makes you stop and look twice. We are talking about the Oasis Resort in Yucatán, Mexico, which is located between the dunes. Throughout the entire design process, the landscape was the main theme, and you can see that immediately. We would therefore like to take you on a tour of the impressive result.
Kacper Niezabitowski may be very young, but he knows exactly what he wants. The third-year architecture student is busy building up a portfolio and is not afraid to develop a strong network. We are therefore not only fans of his beautiful work, but also admire his maturing ambition. So naturally, both deserve to be in the spotlight. For Oasis Resort, the creative mind tried to work out a monolithic, sculptural design in earthy tones. This colour palette is, of course, a direct consequence of the natural environment in which the project is located.
A monolithic, sculptural design in earthy tones.
Oasis Resort wants to make onlookers and visitors aware of the elements: the sand, the earth, the water, the air, etc. Thanks to the large openings and many windows, the design guarantees an intensive experience of the life around. For example, you can spot numerous birds here thanks to the nearby marshes. The materials also reflect such a focus on nature, as the architecture student combined local earth with walnut and oak wood. To give the rooms a consciously contemporary touch, he added bronze accessories. What strikes us most is the controlled way in which he makes the shadow an inseparable part of the whole.
Oasis Resort gives us plenty of hope for more promising projects from this young architect in the making. With this stately design, Kacper Niezabitowski ensures that we will not forget him soon, and we are confident that our readers feel the same way.
