We already wrote about one of Welcome Beyond's recommendations for boutique hotels and today we would like to bring the online platform to your attention again with to this minimalist boutique hotel: Casas Caiadas Open House. Both couples and families are welcome in this cosy guesthouse that invites to rest.
The architectural studio Pereira Miguel Arquitectos, based in Lisbon, designed this wonderful project named Casas Caiadas Open House. The studio was founded in 2005 by Luis Pereira Migual. Together with his associate Filipe Martins Correia, they focus on sustainability within architecture, urban planning, design and architectural research. The architectural office won a Monocle Award in Zurich in 2016 for their project in Sabugueiro and after this they wanted to take the next step and try something different. There are not many high quality accommodation options in the small villages of Portugal so they saw their opportunity in this.
A destination with an authentic and welcoming atmosphere.
The project Casas Caiadas Open House used to be a bakery but has been completely renovated into a boutique hotel by Pereira Miguel Arquitectos. It owes its name to the fact that the building has five doors that open onto two pedestrian streets, creating a nice social dynamic with the village of Arraiolos. The design spread over three floors is a form of discreet and minimalist architecture combined with the authenticity of the area.
The owners' idea was to create an open but intimate place; a destination with an authentic and welcoming atmosphere that would give a new identity to a location with a fascinating history and unique features. Portuguese architect Luís Pereira Miguel chose a combination of plaster and white for the walls and striking decorative elements on the inside and a sober touch on the outside. Every detail contributes to reinforcing a minimalist coherence that invites a special experience: the furniture is made of wood and the objects of fine manufacture are designed by local artists such as João Bruno Videira, Malga Ceramic Design and Graça Paz.
The interior represents elegant simplicity and discreet luxury. Casas Caiadas Open House offers a cool and minimalist serenity with a warmth that immediately makes guests feel at home. With this tasteful holiday home in Portugal, you can leave all the stress behind and join the relaxed rhythm that the project exudes. This minimalist oasis will appeal to world travellers and designer lovers alike.

In 2009, two of Berlin's brothers, Oliver and Chris Laugsch, decided to start a company that combines all their passions: travel, architecture and design. This was the beginning of Welcome Beyond, an online platform that selects residences from all over the world based on architecture and hospitality. As a result, the website offers a wide range of unique accommodations such as beach houses, bed&breakfasts, hotels, chalets, holiday homes, villas and even private islands, yurts and igloos.
