The Spaniard Sergi Comellas is without doubt one of the most exciting contemporary interior designers. He brings lively interior design, lots of open spaces and, above all, lots of light to both residential and commercial projects. We spoke to Comellas about his life and the special project called Guest Apartment in Dubai.
Sergi Comellas' work is characterised by a great eye for detail and a search for the perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. Thanks to his pronounced creative character and his passion for design and photography, he puts his heart and soul into every project. He prefers to work with pure materials that have local origins. Believe us when we say that this designer and his Guest Apartment project in Dubai are the benchmark for multidisciplinary interior design. This particular project in Dubai had the weather and vegetation as the most important factor. the vegetation. These influenced the entire design. Thus, the architect was strongly inspired by the natural vegetation in the surroundings. In contrast to the immutability of architecture and design, vegetation is constantly changing, creating movement, transforming light, etc. The goal of Comellas was to transform sunlight and create movement in the project thanks to the wind.
Blending of local and traditional architecture.
When you enter the house, the main living area turns the view outside through a floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall window, revealing the arid desert landscape. This is a perfect example of how the landscape is part of the design. It is breathtaking how inside and outside intertwine in a seamless, boundless way. Here you will be delightfully immersed in an atmosphere of peace and relaxation.
Not only this project in Dubai has succeeded in creating an intimate and natural place that is in direct contact with nature and generates an intimate experience between the resident and the landscape. Imagicasa is convinced that Sergi Comellas will realise many more unique projects and we are eager to see what the next ten years will bring him. All images are courtesy of Sergi Comellas
