Mediterranean interior has something unique. It can be warm yet sleek, authentic yet modern. Villa Cigarras from Boehm Studio confirms this. Therefore, this 3D visualisation can definitely charm us, hopefully the same accounts for our readers.
Boehm Studio was founded by Aline Boehm, who is able to design both physical and digital spaces. Her motivation behind starting the studio was to design digital and physical spaces that carry a strong focus on design and sustainability with them. This includes interiors, as well as set, retail and exhibition design. Brands can count on her services to visually translate their personal story and, thus, display their identity in a spatial way. Next to this, she highly values the power of emotions, these namely create authenticity, credibility and differentiation. In her work, she always aims to create special places that prioritise human connections and belonging.
A lot of sunlight enters, so that the warm climate automatically becomes part of the interior.
Villa Cigarras originated from a profound appreciation for the Mediterranean way of life. Inherent to this is the urge to slow down and establish a connection with the surroundings. ‘Cigarras’ refers to ‘orchestra’ that provide the landscape with dreamy music on warm summer days. During the most tropical weeks of the year, the air is filled with the hum of the cigarras, who simultaneously strengthen the summer feeling of the whole community. Boehm wanted to incorporate this feeling in her design. She did this by, among others, provides large windows that look out directly on the Mediterranean see. Consequently, a lot of sunlight enters, so that the warm climate automatically becomes part of the interior. The house has a minimal number of doors, as a result, there is a perception of endless space. Both the walls and floors as the furniture have a light beige colour that extra highlights the Mediterranean influence. Without exception each room feels like being in a faraway paradise. In the bathroom you have an endless sea view from the shower and bathtub. Some furniture and decorative pieces that Boehm selected, are the Kangaroo Chair from Charlotte Perriand and the Akari Lamp from Isamu Noguchi. The designer knows how to create the ideal balance between, on the one hand, a thoughtful and essential design and, on the other, a space that can clearly be lived in. Villa Cigarras both invites you to spend time alone and to being in company.
With Villa Cigarras, Boehm Studio delivered a unique interpretation of Mediterranean enjoyment. We hope that these beautiful 3D images will be realised one day and are already a little bit envious of the future residents of this house. Here you experience Mediterranean life at its best.
