Life's a Beach. Homes, Retreats and Respite by the Sea by gestalten is one of them and the book puts us in the holiday mood.
The title of this brand new publication (available in Europe and the UK from 8 July and internationally from 7 September 2021) makes it very clear what to expect when you flip through its pages. Life's a Beach is a collection of projects surrounded by sun, sea and sand. ‘There are no two ways about it — life is better by the beach,’ is what the publisher says. A refreshing sea breeze, the sound of the waves and the feeling of absolute relaxation certainly appeal to us all. Add to that exceptional architecture and inspiring interior design and we are sold! 
Readers of this publication can expect to see many different projects, from cosy beach houses to cliff-top residences with breathtaking views. It is also a journey through different countries, climates and cultures. The book shows how local, traditional techniques are used, which natural materials played a role in the design and which innovative aspects turn the designs into truly unique gems. We see eclectic interiors, typical nautical colour palettes and, above all, very personal homes that fit in with the equally special lifestyle of the residents and their wish to completely relax in these living environments.
