In Sydney's Palm Beach, we find lots of beautiful houmes and this property realised by CM Studio is a nice addition to the neighbourhood. The existing house was completely refurbished with a whole team (CM Studio, Les Interieurs, BAU Group and the owner). Still referencing its heritage, the house was given a new contemporary look.
The designers wanted to modernize the house but with the context of the coast and the beach in mind. The beautiful and natural 'Shou Sugi Ban' charred wooden cladding, white sandstone walls and white metal windows on the outside immediately set the tone for the atmosphere of the interior. These materials not only look beautiful but can also withstand natural elements such as the strong wind, sun, salt and sand that the houses in that area deal with in abundance.

Inside we find white shiplap cladding, beautiful marble and soft finishes. Fresh white, wood and marble play a main role. CM Studio is always looking for beauty in simplicity, and you can see that here. They use materiality as a statement in the rooms and work with different textures and some perfectly chosen decorative details.
