Compact living definitely does not mean that there is no room for stylish designs. Interior designer Lotta Agaton proves this with her latest project. This compact kitchen radiates elegance and class, thanks to the beautiful natural colours, the high-quality materials and the functional storage spaces. This Scandinavian design even becomes part of Nordiska Kök's kitchen collection.
Lotta Agaton Interiors in Stockholm, Sweden, was founded in 2004 by Lotta Agaton and is currently one of Scandinavia's leading interior design studios. They focus on interior decoration, styling projects and furnishing, for both commercial and private spaces worldwide. Each project is customised and tailored to the client's needs and desires. The studio has a passion for sustainable quality and believes strongly in the positive effects of a good design, no matter the type of space: large, small, commercial... So decorating this compact kitchen was a perfect fit with Agaton's vision. For this project, she worked with her daughter Filippa and Nordiska kök, a Swedish company that designs and sells personalised kitchens. This kitchen is designed specifically for a compact home, without compromising on style and functionality. This kitchen is a mix of shaker style, characterised by clean minimalism, and Scandinavian style, which has a cosy and simple atmosphere. This gives the kitchen an elegant and timeless look, which is enhanced by the natural colour palette. On the other hand, when designing this kitchen, a lot of attention has been paid to functional designs. For instance, the oven is hidden in one of the kitchen cabinets, as are the drawers for cutlery and kitchen tools. The refrigerator, freezer, oven, cooker and dishwasher are also all seamlessly integrated. The cabinets themselves open with a light touch, thanks to the SERVO-DRIVE system. Thanks to such a well thought-out design, the kitchen has all the necessary equipment despite the compact space. In addition, Agaton has used quality materials, such as strong oak. In her opinion, when furnishing a small home, you should choose the very best materials, rather than settling for cheaper alternatives. Because you are dealing with a limited space, it will not be that much more expensive. In that respect, compactness is a great advantage.
Compactness can be a great advantage.
As you can see, a small apartment can have a lot of class and style, thanks to a functional design, quality materials and an aesthetic finish. This requires a professional vision, which Agaton and Nordiska Köks both possess. We look forward to seeing what they will bring in the future.
