- Art & Design
We at Imagicasa are big fans of vintage design which I'm sure you've noticed throughout articles in our magazine and online blog. We regularly put iconic designs and their inventors in the spotlight, so we're happy to present, in this publication by Taschen, a comprehensive guide to the most important names, movements and pieces of furniture from the 20th century.
Art Deco, Eames, Victor Horta, De Stijl, Philippe Starck... these are names you've undoubtedly come across many times before, it's certainly not the first time we've mentioned them. The 20th century was in fact a 'Golden Age' for the design world and represents a wealth of innovation. We see a continued – or sometimes renewed – interest in certain designers and furniture pieces. The vintage furniture market is doing better and better, even modern brands are visibly inspired by it.
A reference work everyone should own!
This publication brings together a wealth of design inspiration from the last century. It's an absolute reference for the styles, shapes, colours, movements, designers and their creations that typify the 20th century. Authors Charlotte and Peter Fiell have already published many books on design and iconic furniture. Design of the 20th century is an essential handbook, for designers and architects as well as for design fans or anyone with an eye for beautiful things. And even if not every piece of furniture in this publication seems like something you would place in your interior, the history provides an interesting addition to your design knowledge.
