Not only private residences but also office spaces should be a good match with the people who spend time in them. Fuego Camina Conmigo is lucky to move into a new office that is a precise reflection of their values and corporate style.
Designer Isern Serra knows how to uniquely provide companies of spaces that reflect their DNA in both an attractive and functional manner. He did this as well for the Spanish marketing agency Fuego Camina Conmigo in Barcelona. The company wanted to use the design of their new headquarters to spatially express their values. At the same time, the space functions as the new showroom of furniture company SANCAL. Even though the new office naturally had to answer the professional occupations that take place there, an equal amount of attention was given to creating a pleasant atmosphere that fosters creativity and wellbeing. Because of this, the result is a dynamic and multifunctional space where architecture and geometrical forms are brought to the fore in a playful mood. In this project, it was important that the open space did not follow the stereotypical glass enclosures that are typical for offices. It concerns a renovation project on the third floor in a building in the industrial neighbourhood Gracia. The wishes of the company included meeting rooms, a permanent workspace for forty-four people, an agora zone and service spaces such as a kitchen, bathrooms and a storage space. Serra decided to place the agora like some sort of plaza in the centre of the office. The service rooms were placed close to the entrance, here employees find a storage, bathrooms and conference rooms. Of the latter you can find five different ones, among which one larger unit. An important element is that all these spaces have different measurements, so that the sculptural style becomes clear. In addition, unique metal beams are visible in the conference rooms. Furthermore, the kitchen can receive thirty people at the same time and can also be used as a training room. Serra decided to place different wall openings here, so that a large portion of day light enters. In addition, the entrance of the kitchen has a round shape, which immediately highlights the sculptural aspect again.
Architectural lines and shapes, an inviting palette and an industrial appearance.
Throughout the entire office, the furniture was taken care of by the Spanish company SANCAL. The selection included brands like Remnant, Diwan and Totem. The pieces probably stand out the most in the agora since this room is by far the most open and multifunctional. The sofas, the table and the other pieces form a balanced whole together with colourful round carpets. Moreover, the room has several islands that each have a distinct colour where spontaneous meetings and gatherings can take place. In the back of the office the more private rooms were featured. For example, in the last space you find four custom-made tables of Fusteria Vidal, at which eleven people can take place and that also have a sculptural touch. In the entire office the lighting was realised in collaboration with Leds C4. Tracking spots were installed in the agora, whereas the private worktables are lit by the TUBS model of Nathrang Studio. Next to the product specifications, this office characterises itself through the architectural lines and shapes, the inviting palette and the somewhat industrial appearance. These elements converge in a pleasant atmosphere that invites to get to work. Going to work is a pleasure every day in an office like that of Fuego Camina Conmigo. In this design of Isern Serra, you see an attractive play of interesting shapes, nice materials and a unique feel. This project is a special example of the importance of a work environment that neatly fits the identity and focus of the company at hand.
