Dreaming with AI

By now, you probably know what AI stands for: artificial intelligence. Accordingly, it has been common knowledge for a while that it opens a lot of new doors, for instance in the interior world. The generated images enlarge the limits of our imaginations, concretise special and at times absurd ideas, and especially offer an insight into the intersection between technology and human input. AI projects often originate from the idea to unite living comfort with conditions that are not or less obvious. An example of this is the location. We have already presented visualisations of homes that are truly integrated in a cliff, or an interior design that is part of the jungle or is located at an exceptional height. The options are without end, literally. Sometimes, designers rather focus on unconventional and creative shapes. Fitting the shoe are images that are inspired by the work of Antoni Gaudí and, in doing so, seek and transform the typical, flowing proportions into architectural work. Furthermore, at times people implement AI to generate homes and buildings that open a hatch to another era. There are historical sources available that tell us something about the look of houses throughout the centuries, but thanks to programs such as Midjourney, we can make hyper realistic images of homes from Victorian times, for example.

We think about the future just as well, because there are many people who like to speculate about how our houses might look in a hundred years. Suddenly, time travelling no longer seems impossible. Whatever idea you have, AI programs cast it into concrete images and make your mouth drop sometimes. Nevertheless, not everything such systems produce is of a high quality, so it is still up to human experts to select the most valuable things. In any case, it is an unshakeable truth that the possibilities in architecture and interior design have been changed and extended for ever by the rise of this technology.
