Recently a warm minimalist kitchen was added to this apartment in Stockholm, designed by Nordiska Kök, a recurring favourite at Imagicasa. The light concept with dark details and the rounded corners give this kitchen a smooth, modern look.
Our readers are undoubtedly already familiar with the Scandinavian brand Nordiska Kök, who enjoy a fine reputation for their aesthetic, custom-made kitchens. For this project, they went to Östermalm, a neighbourhood in Stockholm known for its beautiful architecture and its preserved design history. They designed a kitchen with a minimalist, warm feel, finished with original details from the early 20th century.
The kitchen has a unique look, thanks to the contrasting black elements.
The countertop feels more like an aesthetic piece of furniture or sideboard, because of its rounded corners. A predominantly light colour palette is used in the kitchen. Nevertheless, the room has a unique and warm feel to it, thanks to the contrasting black elements that are sporadically found in the kitchen. The airy feeling was reinforced by hanging one of the monochrome cabinets on the wall. The kitchen island is the central meeting point in the beautiful flat. It is used as a breakfast table, but also as an arrival point where guests can enjoy a drink. Finally, the kitchen was styled with a Tulip Tulip table by Eero Saarinen and a Capitol Complex chair by Cassina. In other words, the kitchen has become a modern living space that subtly blends into the more than one hundred year old flat. This project is a nice addition to Nordiska Kök's portfolio. The company is not sitting still, so we will certainly keep an eye on them. We are curious to see what their next project will look like.
