- Interior
In this project, interior architect Justien Lescouhier created a recreational space that balances between wonder and relaxation. Her design, aimed at stimulating the senses, is a place that leaves a lasting impression through its aesthetics and attention to detail.
Upon entering, a subtle yet thoughtful signage leads visitors past the cloakroom, washroom, and staircase area. The wine-red hue of the walls, carefully chosen for its powerful and energetic appearance, welcomes guests in a warm way. This colour contrasts perfectly with the wallpaper, creating an intimate atmosphere and arousing curiosity. This first part of the room ends at an elegant washbasin: a foretaste of the sophistication to be discovered further. Once inside, visitors are surprised by a carefully composed mix of elements that combine to create a harmonious ambience. The layout of the bar is meticulously thought out, with every element, from the furniture and customisation to the lighting, contributing to an inviting and relaxing feel. The arrangement and choice of materials in this space reinforce the relationship between inside and outside, creating a balance between modernity and natural elements, openness and intimacy. The interior concept offers a high degree of flexibility, allowing the atmosphere to be adapted to different seasons and occasions. The dining table can easily be pushed aside to make room for a vintage car, for example, while curtains between the table and the bar can create a cosy impression around the fireplace.
A striking element in the space is the wine cabinet, where perforated steel gives a tough look
Dark green, a colour that symbolises nature and energy, features prominently in the design. This colour choice not only evokes associations with travel and holidays, but also enhances the tropical atmosphere felt throughout the space. The dining chairs, with their design reminiscent of faraway places, contribute greatly to this. Plants scattered throughout the room create a lively and fresh atmosphere, while bronze accents add a touch of luxury and warmth to the bar environment. A striking element in the space is the wine cabinet, where perforated steel gives it a tough, masculine look. This ruggedness is beautifully balanced by the sophisticated lighting, which adds an elegant touch to the environment. Central to the design is the bar, the heart of the space where everything comes together. The surrounding working environment is designed so that everyone can easily access and be involved. An imposing fireplace and barbecue enhance the atmosphere of togetherness and conviviality. This place invites to share stories, enjoy a drink and relax by the fire. In her work, Lescouhier emphasises the importance of an interior that matches the living environment of the users. The final design is a harmonious whole that is both functionally and aesthetically satisfying. In this project, a perfect interplay between the client's wishes, the possibilities of the space, and the designer's vision was again sought. The result is a space that is not only used, but also lived and experienced.

To design a residence that perfectly suits the lifestyle of the clients, an interior architect has to understand what the life of the residents looks like. By listening carefully to them, Justien Lescouhier manages to create projects that evoke a visual tranquillity. Materials with a soul play an important role in this.
