Karimoku Case Study is a Japanese contemporary lifestyle brand. Their collections are individual cases brought to life by leading architects and designers from all over the world. This time it was the turn of one of Imagicasa's favourites for the first case study: Norm Architects.
"Norm Architects creates stunning furniture and decoration collection with Keiji Ashizawa Design"
The latest collection of Karimoku Case Study (KCS), Kinuta, by Norm Architects and Keiji Ashizawa Design was first launched at the Axis Gallery in Japan together with works by other artists. KCS has always had a love for serene beauty, rich materials and a timeless look. The Danish studio Norm Architects fits in perfectly with this with their beautiful minimalist, sober designs. Scandinavian beauty at its best. That was also an important factor as the story of each KCS collection is told from the native setting. "Real, honest and quality materials touch us on a deeper level and thoughtful design will last a lifetime. That's our goal with this brand and the collaboration: to reconnect with nature through materials and to create designs that last," says Norm Architects. Norm Architects' philosophy and vision in combination with Karimoku's, Japan's leading producer of wooden furniture, craftsmanship and love for wood resulted in the beautiful Kinuta collection of sustainable furniture and decorative objects. Thanks to Karimoku's knowledge and eye for detail and quality, the designers can always use the best and most beautiful materials for their designs for the KCS collections. "Whether we escape into nature or surround ourselves with natural materials in our homes, it has a calming effect on us and that is ultimately necessary for our well-being.” This collection is an exact reflection of that serenity and nature.
"This collection is an exact reflection of serenity and nature"
The Kinuta range was designed together with the Keiji Ashizawa Design team to renovate and refurbish two Kinuta Terrace apartments in Setagaya, Tokyo.
