- Interior
This brisk house has been renovated and decorated by Espejo & Goyanes. The historic residence is a serene home in busy Madrid. With a combination of traditional and contemporary elements, the interior got an eclectic and modern look.
The Madrid-based design studio Espejo & Goyanes was founded in 2010 and specializes in luxury interiors. This serene project is a fine example of their style and aesthetics. The beautiful homely oasis is located in an exclusive residential area of the Spanish capital. Although you're not far from the centre, you'll feel the peace and quiet of the beautiful green surroundings and the calm, sober interior with light and fresh colours. The house dates back to 1981 and some historical elements and an older atmosphere appear in details such as paintings, ceilings and fireplaces.
Soft curving furniture creates a welcoming feeling
With a soft palette for both materials and colours, Espejo & Goyanes created a sober and soothing environment. The monochrome interior consists mainly of white, beige and grey tones with here and there a darker or colour accent. The two black seats and the black-and-white photo in one of the living spaces contrast nicely with the rest of the light room. Soft, undulating furniture creates an inviting feeling like the iconic chaise lounge by Olivier Mourgue from the sixties. The swimming pool and the beautiful green garden add to the idea of an oasis.
The end result is a beautiful eclectic residence with modern and rustic details where you can feel the peace. © Montse Garriga
