- Interior
A clear philosophy is a good start for any project. Then, when those ideas are perfectly worked out, you get a home that simply cannot disappoint. Salih Göçmen managed to turn a limited area into an interesting project that brings only good things together.
Creating a beautiful interior for a space of 80 square metres: that was the task given to Turkish architect Salih Göçmen for this home. It was a challenge he enjoyed taking on. Central to his vision is the idea that a home is a place where you can unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of every day. To this end, an interior should be deliberately simple, and every piece should be thought through, so that the result is a minimalist whole where you feel good from the start. Every centimetre was made the most of, so you will for instance find a cosy reading corner next to the TV. Nevertheless, the result does not look too busy. Light colours always make a room immediately look much bigger, so the choice of colour palette was quickly made. The warm brown colour of the Milo Baughman Armchair nicely adds to the otherwise neutral colour combination, bringing together a modern, minimalist interior. As for the furniture pieces, comfort and functionality were prioritised. Norm Architects' Eave Modular Sofa fitted perfectly within that idea, and so that choice was very easy as well. Another nice aspect is the interplay of lines found in both the carpet and the artwork above the sofa.

Furthermore, the architect paid a lot of attention to the entrance of the house. After all, that is the first thing you see when you enter a house, and it should therefore be able to impress. Using calm colours and the right amount of decoration, the entrance of this apartment is one that immediately gives you the right vibes. It was also important that the hallway became a kind of transition to the bedroom. To emphasise that transition, an artwork called 'White Moon' was chosen. This timeless end result will immediately appeal to many. The combination of the right ideas, perfect colours and materials, and matching furniture pieces make this interior a successful one. We hope to enjoy Salih Göçmen's inspiring work even more in the future!
