At Casa Centofinestre, the best of authentic country living is blended with a contemporary feel. Located in Le Marche (Italy), this former farmhouse has been renovated by the Pignattai & Rabagli Studio into an ode to simplicity and connection with nature.
It seems like a fairy tale. Casa Centofinestre is located at the top of one of the green mountains in the area and has a view that stretches for miles. The foundation of the renovation project is simplicity and a tranquil sensibility. Therefore, the design was based on rooms that the studio reduced to a bare minimum and then infused with warmth and elegance. The result is a serenity that embraces the entire building and also includes the surrounding outdoor spaces in its calmness. Another way in which the landscape is integrated inside is the deliberate experimenting with openings, creating a permanent interaction between the inside and outside world. This sets ambiguous boundaries, creating an organic living experience that places great importance on space and nature.
Daylight is essential in nature. This residence is therefore abundantly endowed with natural light. Thanks to the matt finishes inside, daylight is softly subdued. Large and open spaces do not mean a lack of warmth and cosiness in this case. Another pillar of Casa Centofinestre is the beauty and value of the passage of time. Objects are tinted by the passing of the years, and the studio keeps this in mind by quietly enhancing the silent emotions of the past. A similar methodology is the use of unrestored surfaces and reused objects. All these choices are aimed at creating a peaceful space that in no way overloads the senses. Ideal for daydreaming at the sight of the landscape and for soaking up quiet ideas and conversations.
The furnishings have been deliberately composed and eliminate all superfluous items.
The palette perfectly matches the location of the house: natural and grounded. The monochrome effect contributes to the idea of a residence that is balanced and where the passage of time has brought rich simplicity. The walls were given texture and wood was used. The furniture and linen were also chosen in the framework of the building's restrained character. The furnishings have been deliberately composed and eliminate all superfluous items. This gives the residents the chance to focus on the essence of their stay, namely the conscious experience of each day.
This project is a testament to a refined taste that highlights the beauty of simplicity and nature like no other. Here you will find a warm and minimalist residence that has been put together with the greatest care. And it pays off, because together all aspects of Casa Centofinestre form a love letter to the silence of the past and the whispers of the future.
