At the beginning of the 20th century, Rocco Peduzzi built his art nouveau dream house in the heart of Lombardy, by the famous Lake Como. The location for his grandiose villa is the top of a hill where a medieval tower once stood overlooking the valley. In this holistic place, characterised by a green oasis, you can finally feel the tensions of everyday life slipping away. La dolce vita.
Over the past four years the villa has been renovated and transformed into a guesthouse. Designer Albano Daminato (about whom an extensive article will be published in the October edition of Imagicasa magazine) was inspired by the rich past and the Liberty Style (the Italian version of art nouveau) and created a house where you can enjoy this in all modern comfort. The nine rooms bathed in a luxurious design atmosphere certainly contribute to this. The old and new elements complement each other seamlessly with authentically preserved frescoes, the preserved complex ceiling styles, the custom-made furniture and the deliberately chosen Portuguese marble.
A sensational feeling of freedom and relaxation
The literal and figurative height of Villa Peduzzi is that each room is accompanied by a private balcony with a unique view of Lake Como. The swimming pool even gives the illusion of overflowing. What a sensational feeling of freedom and relaxation when you look over the edge from the pool. The interior designer also chose a sober style with warm natural tones and blending beautifully the Art Nouveau accents in each room. The large windows form a canvas in which nature is depicted and thus forms an organic part of the comfortable, warm interior.
