- Interior
The work of interior designer Bieke Casteleyn always bathes in an appealing light that brings out the best of the dimensions of each space. This time, she did so with a commercial property that needed to be transformed into an inviting and cosy office. With the open ambience that resides inside these four walls, there is no doubt that she succeeded.
Initially, the building was known for its long and narrow construction that was divided into small cabinets that had to deal with a minimum of daylight. That chapter is irrevocably closed now, because Bieke Casteleyn immediately saw possibilities to gently let the rooms flow into each other and say goodbye to the dark look. In the first place, this happened by stripping both floors completely, which meant that the sightlines and construction became more open. Visitors arrive in a pleasant reception area where a central bar table catches the attention. Thanks to the sliding panels that divide their adjacent workspace sufficiently, employees find the desired peace and privacy. Within the same line of thought, the interior designer ensured a strong balance between, on the one hand, the professionalism, and, on the other, the cosy vibe. Furthermore, there are two separate offices in the back that are connected by lacquered metal doors. Finally, there is also an open mezzanine floor with an extra conference room that is provided with a handy kitchen.
A subtle painting technique and brass put the final touches to the continuity of the interior.
The main assets of this project are, among others, the rich light and soft colours that prevail. In order to achieve this, they eagerly made use of glass. In this way, there can be enough division elements without the rooms becoming too dark. Moreover, the walls in natural oak guarantee a warm and tactile touch, just like the herringbone parquet. Another dominant material is the onyx natural stone, Onice Caldo to be exact. The combination of said materials culminates in a soft palette that is an excellent choice for an environment where employees want to feel safe and focused. Concerning the finishing, a subtle painting technique and brass details put the final touches to the continuity of the interior. The thoughtful, balanced layout and royal incidence of light are essential building stones of this workspace, while the coherent use of colours and materials assures that the whole is a feast for the eyes. Once a narrow commercial property, now an inviting office. With this transformation, Bieke Casteleyn proves the power of change. Not only are we immensely inspired by the ambience of this workspace, but we are also proud of the skills of our talented partner.
