A space that feels natural is inevitably a pleasant environment to reside in. The Heather project of ACIID Studio demonstrates this again by bringing earthy tones to the fore and exuding an inviting warmth. Together with an inherent purity, the honest materials assure a relaxing atmosphere.
ACIID Studio is the work of Polina Volkova and Olga Novak. In 2020, these talented ladies decided to bundle their powers and together they started a studio that offers architectural-, interior-, and product design. Their mission is to bring forth functional designs in which precision, comfort, aesthetic and comfort harmoniously converge. They do not only approach their work carefully, but also the choosing of a name happened with the required focus. They soon arrived at the acronym ACID: atomicity, consistency, isolation, and durability. These four key terms include the essence of what they want to achieve with their creations, namely a balanced process that consists of coordinated steps and arrives at a lasting result. Furthermore, they decided to add a second ‘I’ that represents individuality, since no two projects of theirs are the same. ACIID Studio is available for residential, hospitality and commercial projects.
The goal was to translate an idea of naturalness into the rooms.
Heather was designed for a client that was looking for an apartment with a spacious and open atmosphere. Because of this, ACIID ensured the required furniture only and declined anything superfluous. Together with the high ceilings and windows, this choice made for a pleasant feel of airiness. In order to stress this asset, the team opted for translucent curtains. Moreover, the Heather design is characterised by the continuous earthy colour palette. By giving the walls and flooring the same tint, the overall white furniture optimally emerges. This was anything but an arbitrary choice; namely, it was the goal to translate an idea of naturalness into the rooms. ACIID selected stone, wood, clay plaster and fabrics to let this goal resound in the materials as well. This paid off, because the final design emanates a comfortable tranquillity, as well as a feeling of being home. The peaceful character of the residence, however, does not exclude that a few eye-catchers were incorporated. In this case, these are the fireplace, which completes the warm feel, and the green marble in the kitchen. 
With Heather, ACIID Studio proves that they know how to bring a space to higher spheres. The rest and naturalness that comes from their design, leaves no room to doubt the high level of comfort that you experience here. With spaciousness as common thread, the duo designed a beautiful apartment that highlights the best elements in just the right places.
