Wendy Verstrepen has been a loyal partner at Imagicasa for some time now. Today, we take you with us to a project by this interior designer, a duplex apartment on the seafront in Knokke. Ideal as a family home and with the necessary attention for natural materials and design pieces.
With no less than 20 years of experience in new buildings and total renovations, the expertise of interior designer Wendy Verstrepen is not limited to one style. Every time she creates unique designs that perfectly incorporate and connect the taste and personality of her client. Her most recent project is a magnificent duplex apartment in Knokke.
Let your thoughts wander and radiate tranquility.
When you walk into the apartment, you immediately notice the natural stone cupboard wall. It brings peace and serenity next to the oak parquet. One floor up is the mezzanine with three bedrooms which are perfect for children's rooms. There is also a bathroom and separate toilet. The mezzanine is screened by a large glass section which gives you an excellent view of the North Sea. This window section is extended downwards, visually enlarging the space and drawing all attention to the view. Furthermore, the apartment on the ground floor comprises a living and dining area, a master bedroom, dressing room and bathroom. The staircase and the furniture fit in closely with the rest of the interior. According to Verstrepen, the whole had only one goal: to radiate tranquillity and allow your thoughts to run free for a while. The interior designer worked together with a well-known partner, Devos Interieur. The fireplace was installed by Roger van Dale of the well-known company METALFIRE. The beautiful cupboard wall in the living room is the work of Natuursteen Verbaendert. Furthermore, the steel doors are from Aerts & Van Hoof and the lighting from MOON Lighting. Finally, the eye-catching ceramic wall light in the entrance hall was designed by Emmanuelle Simon, a designer we know well.
The apartment exudes tranquillity above all, which is mainly due to the use of natural materials and the unity in the finishes. The sandblasted muslin limestone on the floor creates a warm, minimalist whole. Simple simplicity is all this duplex needs. Photography by Jaro van Meerten
