Ogst Deli is an addition to the Restaurant Ogst in Hasselt, Belgium and was designed by our partner and architect Bart America. With more than a decade of experience, he has been able to develop his own design language and experience has taught him that a detailed A to Z approach produces the most rewarding results. As an architect, he wants to create an enriching experience for both parties: himself and the client.
Chef Sebastien Wygaerts and sommelier Diederik Herbots wanted a coherent whole for Deli between this project and the restaurant, because they are adjacent to each other. In addition, they wanted Deli to have its own identity. Because the delicacies and fresh products are the most important, the intention was to put them in the spotlight. Therefore, the interior is deliberately very sober, but still of high quality, with authentic materials that have shaped the space.

Bart America was able to use his own design language for this project; the clients gave him their full trust and counted on his vision, design and correct representation of his design language. The aim was to focus on creating a calm, timeless context with an emphasis on authentic and high-quality material choices. This allows the personality of the client to fully come to the fore.
Even though this project is unique, Bart America still strives for his fixed guidelines: a calm, discrete environment in a minimalist but also warm atmosphere. His inspiration for projects comes from the existing context and environment. For this realisation, it was a challenge to maintain a meticulous follow-up. That's why Bart America worked with trusted, well-known people and firms, such as Il Granito Natural Stone, Texture Painting and Roux Interior Construction. 
As for all his projects, Bart America strived for a neutral colour palette together with natural qualitative materials. Also in this project we think this comes to full advantage again!
