Imagicasa likes to take its readers on trips. Today, we go to Mexico, where the architectural firm Revolution has built fifty holiday villas on the coast. It was important that the accommodations radiate a simple lifestyle, where nature is central.
Mazul is the name given to the residential project with fifty villas on the coast. The project was designed by the architectural firm Revolution and is located in Santa Elena El Tule, Oaxaca. In addition to the villas, the site also houses a clubhouse with a swimming pool, terrace, restaurant, bar, a beach club and many lush green areas. The villas were intended to reflect an elementary and simple lifestyle, without luxury or eccentricities. The luxury of the project lies in the outdoor space and the beauty of the location. Establishing a connection with nature was therefore of utmost importance, and so the architecture had to be integrated into the terrain as discreetly as possible. At the same time, it had to be able to withstand the climate, storms and hurricanes that often occur in the area.
The luxury of the project lies in the beauty of the location.
When designing the project, the location was a great source of inspiration. Thus, load-bearing walls of reinforced concrete mixed with a dye in the shade of the sand present there were chosen. The remaining walls were built in bricks and covered with sand. Thus, both walls have the same kind of tone, but different textures: some purer, others rougher. In the villas, the indoor and outdoor spaces form a whole: a space that brings shade and tranquillity and makes the guests feel connected to nature. In addition to a bedroom and bathroom, each accommodation has a living room, kitchen, terrace and private pool. It was important that each space is naturally ventilated and well-lit, to ensure maximum indoor comfort. Want to get enchanted by more impressive projects and inspiring architecture?
