Mind Design created a new sales office for Vanke, a Chinese real estate developer. With the name Starry Metropolis, this can certainly count as an urban inspired space with a bold personality. The open, contemporary design and the large surface ensure a professional looking result that the company will enjoy for a long time to come. Therefore, we are happy to introduce you to this fresh concept.
It was clear from the beginning that the interior needed an abundance of breathing space, as well as a flowing floor plan without any obstacles. The impressive size of the rooms and high ceilings immediately cause such an effect. The design contains, among others, a lobby, showroom, gallery, consultation room, and bar. Concerning the colour palette, Mind Design gained inspiration from the idea of a starlight; namely, they chose delicate tints that remind of shadow and light. At the same time, it was a deliberate choice to use warm hues, considering that the northern climate can certainly use this during the winter months to make a positive impact on the mood of the people who spend a lot of time there. Starry Metropolis is in Lanzhou, China and, as a contemporary design, brings an important contribution to the rather old, industrial character of the city.
The heigh ceilings and the impressive size of the rooms immediately cause such an effect.
Next to the entrance, you are greeted by an eyecatcher that is difficult to forget: an enormous chandelier that reminds of a shining star. Furthermore, in the centre of the lobby you find Time Capsule, a notable construction that consists of, among others, a circle and a square. They placed a mirror at the top, whereas on the bottom a water connection was established. This art installation refers to Oriental aesthetics and is a huge construction. Regarding the outside of the design, it soon became clear that there would be a closed façade. In this way, Starry Metropolis becomes a place that people enter and that allows them to let go temporarily of the chaos of daily life outside. Mind Design was dedicated to presenting a concept that could be an important step in a direction where Lanzhou is steadily developing into a delicate metropole. 
Starry Metropolis makes that, in the years to come, the Vanke company can be sure of an excellent sales office where clients can let their mouth drop to the floor. The spacious room inside has a lasting effect on the feeling that the project brings about. With a confident feeling the design is headed for a future where many successes are yet to be achieved.
