- Interior
Some time ago, we showed an impressive, serene interior from the Spanish architectural studio Srta. Rottenmeier. This beautiful ‘ático japandi’, Spanish for japandi penthouse, also employs their inspirational style that we are such a fan of.
Srta. Rottenmeier is a Spanish architectural studio from Murcia that was founded in 2015 by architects José Manuel Muñoz and Gemma González. In each project, the team strives for the best result, in which creativity and refined techniques are in perfect harmony and where there is an eye for detail. Each design is unique and an ideal coming together of aesthetics and functionality. The studio likes to make use of materials such as wood, ceramics, stucco, and glass, which are common in Mediterranean architecture and create beautiful spaces that evoke a real welcoming feeling. Timeless interiors that surprise and offer the team the opportunity to improve, that is what characterises this Spanish studio.
The translucent partitions bring extra privacy in a number of cosy corners
The penthouse we present here is fully designed in japandi style, which is very popular at the moment and fuses Japanese and Scandinavian influences. In this case, light was the key word. The large, flexible spaces in this penthouse have a beautiful view to the outside, making the rooms appear even bigger. From this restructuring of the rooms and the simple interior results a clean, bright design. The translucent partitions bring extra privacy in a number of cosy corners, without losing the open feeling throughout the apartment.
For the colours, light grey, beige, and brown shades were selected, which combined with a white base on the walls give a fresh, calm feeling. By avoiding excess and returning to the essence, the penthouse becomes a true oasis of peace in the middle of the city. Soft colours are combined with sleek lines, which is for instance very clear in the kitchen. In this property, too, the Srta. Rottenmeier team fulfills its promise. Every detail is right and both aesthetics and comfort and functionality are thought of. This warm, timeless interior makes you feel good straight away.
