Samir Hakim Design Studio, a design studio in Beirut, tackled the design of Residence D. This residence is characterised by modernity and elegant luxury that reflects the best of the vibrant city which surrounds it.
The design studio, run by Samir Hakim, was established in 2008. They design private and public projects in Lebanon, Europe, the US and the Persian Gulf. The studio focuses mainly on the relationship and collaboration with the client when creating interiors. Hakim is also always looking for a balance between existing elements and innovation. He describes his work as: ‘Our collaborations lead to clean, rich, imaginative designs that blend strikingly innovative thinking about function with a deep respect for the traditions of everyday living.’

Residence D is a good example of the studio's vision. It is a modern apartment in the centre of Beirut. The residence is a fusion of classic elements such as French panelling and contemporary industrial furniture. In order to partition the long and wide dimensions of the apartment, the designers chose a platform that runs along one wall with an adjoining bar. The materials in the apartment alternate herringbone parquet and wooden panels with shiny black and white natural stone. Residence D is a home that radiates luxury and cosiness. The interior has sleek and homely elements that result in spaces where you can receive people from all over the world and also enjoy with your family.
