Today is the last day of the international BRAFA art fair. Like every year, you can find impressive and unique presentations of antiques and art in Brussels for a week. The booth of interior architect Axel Vervoordt immediately stood out for Imagicasa. In a sober and natural atmosphere, he presents the most beautiful furniture, art and exceptional design objects.
Axel Vervoordt, known as one of the most influential art dealers and interior architects, is a master at creating meaningful layers in minimalistic settings. His booth at BRAFA is a perfect representation of his signature style. There is a luxurious zen atmosphere and the space seems sober and minimalistic, but if you look closer, you will discover the sublime layers of beautiful works of art, materials, objects, textures and colours.

In this beautiful, soothing setting, Vervoordt presents important archaeological masterpieces and sculptures like the work of Brazilian master José Zanine Caldas. Historical pieces are combined with contemporary works of art by, among others, Chung Chang-Sup, Yoshishige Furuwaka, Sadaharu Horio and Raimund Girke. We immediately fell in love with the Caldas console table above which hangs Meditation 991204 by Chung Chang-Sup. The imposing 190101 by Tsuyoshi Maekawa is also a beautiful work that is perfectly complemented by the lounge chairs by Branco & Preto.
All the pieces and details are beautiful on their own, but in harmony with each other they create a sublime whole. Images © Axel Vervoordt Gallery
