The exclusive parquet floors and carpets of Brabo Flooring can recently be admired in their new showroom in Kontich. Our partner JOE Design Studio was responsible for giving the space, which is located in an industrial area, a warm and homely atmosphere. A task that they completed with flying colours.
JOE Design Studio was founded in 2020 by Jody Eeckhout. They offer a total package, focusing on architecture, interior design, execution and follow-up. The focus is mainly on high-end residential interiors for private clients. In every project, they strive to create a serene and tailored atmosphere, with the help of talented craftsmen. Natural materials and the customer's wishes are central to them. In this way, they succeed time and again in shaping contemporary and timeless projects down to the smallest detail. 
JOE Design Studio and Brabo Flooring are no strangers, they have already worked together four times in the past. For this project, the studio faced the challenge of transforming a warehouse-like space into a cosy, stunning showroom. An industrial environment did not suit the products that were to be displayed, namely parquet floors and carpets. So the aim was to design the showroom in such a way that the warehouse feel is completely forgotten. The studio achieved this by using natural, warm materials and limiting the use of steel and metal. To do full justice to the parquet, it was placed against the wall, just like in an art gallery. In the middle, a type of altar was placed, where customers can go to when they have a question.

Finally, the studio played with the sense of scale, so that the ten-metre high warehouse would feel more homely. For this purpose, a light shaft was made with a transparent cloth. Four large pivoting walls with samples were placed under the four corners of the shaft. The idea is to close the walls when the customers enter and then to open them when the customers discover the showroom. In this way, the showroom also gets a dynamic character. 
In short, JOE Design Studio has succeeded in transforming a warehouse into a homely, dynamic showroom. A great achievement that will not go unnoticed by both their customers and the customers of Brabo Flooring.
