We are always eager for a new, undoubtedly beautiful visualisation by our partner Laura Calleeuw. Recently, we dreamt away at images of her designed Ibiza home, where you can find nothing but peace and neutrality. We would like to take our readers with us to this extraordinary design.
The work of interior designer Laura Calleeuw embodies everything Imagicasa loves: simplicity, luxury and personality. With her all-encompassing approach and refined style, her projects always start from the architectural lines with which she elaborates perspectives, proportions and spatiality. By allowing herself to be guided by aesthetics, functionality and personality, Calleeuw also succeeds in expressing her creative vision in a design that, at the same time, fully respects the wishes of the clients. Great care has been taken to create a relaxed atmosphere, connecting with the earth through the use of natural materials (wood is omnipresent). The aim of the Laidback luxury concept is immediately the leitmotif of her visualisation: to relive relaxation with modern, minimalist design. Thus, Calleeuw opted for a modern interpretation of the classic Mediterranean architecture. To achieve this, she and her team take the comfort of a luxury hotel, but the absence of architectural boundaries also contributes to creating the relaxing feeling of absolute freedom and unity.
A modern interpretation of the classic Mediterranean architecture
This renovation, including a large extension, is located in Ardooie, West Flanders and consists of a U-shape with a courtyard garden. This project had the objective of renovating the house to create as much visibility and light as possible and a maximum sense of space. The house had to trigger the desire to be at home, to enjoy and to be able to invite and receive people. To meet these wishes, Laura Calleeuw and her team opted for a bathroom that runs through an inner garden, which gives an optimal holiday feeling, while their privacy is being respected as well. Furthermore, the façade is completely closed off at the entrance so that, once inside, you enjoy maximum visibility and light. As a result, the couple is completely closed off from the outside environment and the street. A lot of attention was also paid to the exterior joinery. Thus, the windows are adapted to the outside environment with its beautiful views, including the couple's horses in the garden. The interior emphasises natural and earthy tones and materials, and should reflect the carefree beach life of Ibiza. Although minimalist, it remains warm and emphasises the purity and beauty of nature. The Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, which advocates a connection with the earth and the use of natural materials, is an integral reference point for the interior design. An earthy colour palette, rustic textures and materials inspired by nature set the tone and create a sense of relaxation from the moment you step inside. The living area reveals the kind of understated luxury that immediately makes you feel at ease. Here, a sense of design merges with a warm, sincere atmosphere. Once again, this project fits seamlessly into the design language of the design agency. Thanks to its soft approach, organic form language yet sleek lines, greige colour tones and variation in different materials and structures, it is once again a unique yet timeless design. For the furniture, quality players such as the Italian brand Edra and the high-quality Belgian company JOV were decisively chosen. Thanks to the maximum coordination of architecture with interior and garden architecture, the greatest wish of the clients was fully met. The fresh wind that blew through this renovation will continue to vibrate for a long time to come.
