Dejaeger Interieurarchitecten has its own furniture workshop, allowing it to offer a full-service to its clients. Thus, the agency is responsible for both design, production and installation of custom-made furniture with a large team of true craftsmen. More than that, the team strives to whittle shapes and materials down to their essence, and their most recent project was no different.
Being able to offer the full execution of a project as a design agency is seen as a huge asset by their clientele and is thus highly appreciated. "Both the client and ourselves value this very much. As a client you can count on a smooth process from start to finish, we on the other hand have the realisation of our ideas completely in our own hands. As a designer, it is invaluable to know that your design will be executed correctly down to the smallest detail," explains business manager Kurt Dejaeger. This asset has translated into exponential growth over the years and immediately marked a major breakthrough in his career. Thus, he started Dejaeger Furniture Workshop back in 1992, where he was able to express his drive for perfection. Indeed, the designer and entrepreneur tells us that he had a passion for architecture and design from an early age that never waned. It was therefore an obvious choice to take this path professionally. Until 2007, design, coordination and execution fell under this company. In that year, however, the interior designer made the split from the company and Dejaeger Interieurarchitecten was also born. He calls this "a logical step due to the growth of the company and the scope of projects". Now, we have been able to enjoy their numerous impressive total projects for many years.
For Dejaeger interior designers, both materials and layout are of great importance in their designs
Project TH consists of a total renovation, for instance, a residential house was completely redesigned from A to Z in two phases. During the first phase, the living area, both downstairs and upstairs, was completely renovated with subsequent renovation of the garage, pool house and bar. The clients' main wishes were to create a timeless unity and harmony with great attention to high-quality materials. Above all, the team wanted the existing villa to create more open spaces and generate a flowing harmony between the indoor and outdoor environments. In this way, the residence would create more tranquillity and freedom. The project fits perfectly with the design language of Dejaeger interior architects thanks to the use of high-quality natural materials. However, the individuality of the existing house was an important part of the interior design proposal and realisation. However, it was still quite a challenge to transform an existing villa with a classic layout into an open and light home. The question was how far they could go in totally renovating the existing house while respecting the existing structure. "We chose to work with natural materials like walnut, floors and furniture in natural stone Musschelkalk à passe that are in harmony with each other and with some accents due to the uniqueness of certain materials. For example, the background of the wine cabinet and the tablet of the aperitif table are set in natural stone vert patricia," we hear. In turn, the furniture complements the harmonious unity of the home. They were therefore chosen according to the design and materials chosen. In this way, the final result of the total renovation was a classic villa transformed into a high-quality contemporary home. For Dejaeger interior designers, both the materials and the layout are very important in their designs. In consultation with the client, we achieve a perfect relationship between the two. "Every time it is a challenge to work with different contractors and achieve a high-end execution. It was no different with this recent renovation and will certainly stay with me. This has even created a nice friendship between the client and myself so that is very nice," Kurt Dejaeger says. Currently, there is not exactly one specific project on the team's bucket list. They see every project as a challenge and an adventure to deliver a top result and to work with the latest materials.
