Since 2009, our partner JUMA architects is dedicated to translating timeless designs to reality, and in doing so, they always deliver a result that is tailored to the client. Recently, they got to work for a project that would be called Villa Ha. Those who are not yet familiar with this visionary duo now have the chance to be completely immersed in the essence of their common vision.
Villa Ha is a project in Ardooie, Belgium that was designed in 2021. JUMA architects shared their vision with Buro Groen, which took care of the landscape architecture. The natural environment was an important factor in the design process since they made the deliberate choice to give the house not more than one building layer. In this way, they were able to make a minimal impact on the surroundings, and the result is harmonious with the nearby nature. Obviously, the large windows help with this, which makes that the residents can develop a pleasant relationship with the environment.
Concerning the materials, JUMA wanted to avoid contrasts.
Naturally, all functions are on the ground level, but there is a difference in height among the numerous volumes. That is to say, the kitchen and living area have ceilings of three metres, whereas the dining area and bedrooms are half a metre lower. This variation does not only create a welcome change in the architecture, but also a useful layout for people who are less mobile. Concerning the materials, JUMA wanted to avoid contrasts. Therefore, it is no wonder that they incorporated different brown tints and gave a voice to wood and bronze. In addition, these materials are an ideal complement to the green location. 
With Villa Ha, JUMA architects again proves that they guarantee carefully considered projects that are backed up by a detailed concept. This extensive property gives us great pleasure and makes us curious about an undoubtedly interesting future for the agency.
