- Interior
Sincere collaborations that start from a shared ambition and passion always have a greater chance to succeed. This is no different for The 1818 Collective, a creative project with a multifunctional goal but a clear emotional identity. Namely, the aim is to unite a community of like-minded people and, at the same time, pronounce an ode to design, interior, and art. What can you find here? Ambition with a focus, fascination without limits.
You need more than a few words to describe what the two women have brought to life. In the first place, The 1818 Collective is a boutique that is constantly evolving, as well as a place where events are organised and a retail concept is strengthened by hospitality spaces. This means that products and designs are being sold, and that there is likewise attention for developing and nurturing an artistic and creative society. For this reason, it is also a place for special meetings, artisanal workshops, events, book signings, and more. When it comes to their target audience, the concept mainly focuses on designers and craftsmen, but also anyone who has an interest in interior and is looking for inspiration. Interestingly, the project is flexible and is open for reinterpretation; that is to say, a few times a year they rethink the space both aesthetically and functionally.

If you are wondering what they specifically have to offer, you do not need to wait for long. Expect a versatile mix of vintage and contemporary pieces that cover a wide range. Furniture, lighting, decoration, and textile are all extensively displayed. Thanks to the rarity of the range – a lot of the pieces are unique – the clientele is always being motivated to look for the best that they can find. Next to this, the curation presents interesting juxtapositions of diverging contrasts, which leads to the whole culminating in an unusual but alluring balance.
A property from 1800 can be more relevant than ever in 2022. Here in Sag Harbor, this amazing project originated from a profound love for interior and beauty. With the goal to build a dynamic community consisting of creatives, craftsmen, designers, and admirers, The 1818 Collective came about. We are delighted that initiatives as this are realised and hope that all who visit, find what they are looking for and continue to quench their thirst for more.
