For Brazilian designer Otto Felix, every project has to tell a story and generate enthusiasm. This residency in Campinas (northwest of the capital São Paulo) sure made our hearts beat faster and we like to put it in the spotlight here.
Bringing nature into the living spaces and making it coincide with social life, that was the central starting point of this project. For the architecture, this meant working mainly with natural materials and neutral colours in order to fit in as well as possible with the surroundings. Casa OF is located in a beautiful green area and on an terrain of about 1.300 square meters.
Modern architecture that respects nature
Nowhere inside can you enjoy this more than in the central dining and living area. Surrounded by glass panels that can be slid open completely, the residents and their guests here are in direct contact with nature, but they also enjoy sufficient protection and privacy. The various living spaces can also be separated from each other with smart and stylish wooden sliding doors, according to the occasion and the wishes of the residents. Further on in the house you will find a kitchen, dining room, TV room, master bedroom, guest room and laundry room. Another great asset: the swimming pond, which provides a unique transition from the house to the beautifully landscaped garden.
Bringing nature into the living spaces and making it coincide with social life
As mentioned above, Otto Felix chose natural materials and finishes such as stone and wood. These are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional, as they provide a higher level of climate control. Lighting also comes from natural light throughout the day, allowing all the materials to come into their own without creating an artificial atmosphere. In the evening and at night, there is more direct lighting that focuses on details in the architecture and landscape and thus also creates a unique atmosphere of warmth and conviviality.
