From 22 March to 21 July 2019, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium will host the latest exhibition of the work of Wim Delvoye, one of the greatest artists in our country. If you really want to immerse yourself in the world of Delvoye, you should also get this catalogue. If only because of the beautiful cover with gilding that provides an extra touch of bling bling in your interior!
He strings the successes together and he is far from thinking about stopping. The artist still has too many ideas for that. The current exhibition in Brussels shows not only older works but also some new series such as the marble bas-reliefs. In the interview with Wim Delvoye that we did as part of our March edition, he told us about his creative process and about how he looks at his rich oeuvre: "I don't have to hurry so much to finish a work. I can save time by showing older works while I'm quietly working on new ones. A new work also gives new layers of meaning to the older works." The works that are still on display in the KMSKB for a few more weeks are also in dialogue with the museum's permanent collection. This way, too, visitors can (re)discover Delvoye's old and new creations in a special way.
"The exhibition runs until 21 July in the KMSKB, but this catalogue is also highly recommended!"
Are you unable to make it to the exhibition or would you like to bring the world of this unique artist into your home? Then we highly recommend this catalogue! With 122 illustrations, the publication offers a lot of viewing pleasure.
