The projects of visionary British designer Hollie Bowden are characterised by a natural design language with the necessary wit and intrigue. Her realisation Forest Estate, a bohemian holiday home, also exudes the typical serenity and uniqueness of Bowden’s design language.
The serene Bohemian atmosphere was fully realised through an earthy and neutral colour palette and natural materials.
Forest Estate is surrounded by a forest and is located on a hill in south-western Ibiza. The property comprises a guest house and a main villa. Bowden and her team were commissioned to create a Bohemian Ibizan holiday home; unpretentious, serene simplicity with luxurious comfort, a little bit romantic and a little bit magical; with a high level of atmosphere and warmth.
With those wishes, the designer immediately went to work. The serene Bohemian atmosphere was fully realised through the use of an earthy and neutral colour palette and natural materials. Beige, grey and brown tones are predominant, with a lot of wood and stone. Washbasins were carved from loose pieces of stone and you will also find an Ibizan stone staircase. The materials were chosen for their character and the way they enhance the existing and reflect the surroundings. The core materials were mineral plaster, antique wood and hand-beaten iron throughout. The whole thing had to be a textural and elemental space with tonal warmth and atmosphere, a calming and peaceful environment.
According to Imagicasa, Bowden has succeeded in doing just that. Forest Estate became a clever piece of bohemian design that perfectly incorporated the client’s wishes and beautifully reflected Hollie Bowden’s style.
