Living in Mallorca sounds like music to our ears no matter what. If you can do so in Casa Roca, however, it is hard to imagine anything better. Namely, with this project, Quadratmeta has done an outstanding performance that leaves no room for improvement. The face behind the studio is the German duo Maximilian and Aranzazu Menck. The Casa Roca project originated out of their passion for the Mallorcan charm and the desire to preserve it. They could carry out this plan at will in this traditional townhouse from 1890. Because of their profound appreciation for rustic elements and a contemporary understanding of space, they were able to bring this home to a higher level and to orchestrate a perfect marriage between past and present. Thanks to advanced technologies, the duo could catapult the building to the highest quality, even though it was an enriching challenge to let a modern interpretation interact easily with the rustic past. Nevertheless, the studio succeeded in finding the ideal balance between the authentic Mallorcan architecture and contemporary innovation.
The modern Mallorcan charm of the house will undoubtedly charm a large public.
Casa Roca has a living surface of 234 square metres. On the ground floor you find, among others, a dining and living room, a custom-made kitchen with a worktop of natural stone, a guest toilet and a spectacular wine cellar. If you go upstairs, you are greeted by three bathrooms that each have an ensuite bathroom. Moreover, the patio is also more than worth it. Namely, the house has a beautiful courtyard that has a surface of 65 square metres and with a heated swimming pool that invites you to take a dive. In addition, the swimming pool was laid with beautiful handmade tiles and also has jacuzzi jets and a waterfall to offer. Not unimportant is that the patio is faced to the south and is provided with total privacy. You can lay down in intimate corners where tropical plants ensure the necessary shade. Also inside there was attention for the right cooling: the house has an excellent ventilation system. However, Casa Roca is also prepared for cold temperatures since everywhere in the house underfloor heating was installed. Quadratmeta decided to open op the initially small spaces and, in this way, created a natural flow of light. Some traditional Mallorcan elements that were preserved, are the wooden beams and the exposed Marés stone. The patio and the entire style of the home remind of the ultimate Mediterranean lifestyle as well. The walls were finished with a special lime plaster and received an off-white tint. Because of this, they are the perfect background for the interior details and the furniture. The latter is, besides, a fantastic mix of custom-made pieces and renewed design, such as the Mocholi dining chairs from 1960 Valencia, for example. To our liking, Casa Roca is currently for sale, the entire interior included. This probably won’t be for long, however, because the modern Mallorcan charm of the house will undoubtedly charm a large public. The carefully selected combination of the traditional and the contemporary makes that Casa Roca is a unique gem that makes everyone desire Mediterranean serenity.
With Casa Roca, Quadratmeta proves to be an expert in finding the perfect middle ground. This renovation project is the ideal meeting between Mallorca's past and future. Anyone who is a fan of Mediterranean life will see the charm in this simple but luxurious home, Imagicasa included. Want to get enchanted by more impressive projects and inspiring architecture?
