For Aman, a luxury hotel in New York, KALPA Galleries created a unique art collection that adds even more character to the hotel’s interior. In this hotel, guests experience a feeling of peace and can escape from daily life. A timeless selection of more than a hundred works surprises and inspires.
KALPA Art Living is an art gallery in Volterra, in the heart of Tuscany. They have a clear vision, which revolves around refinement, an intuitive passion for craftsmanship and a holistic approach of interior design. Elegant, refined works, both contemporary and art from the past, are part of this extraordinary collection. A wabi sabi style reunited eastern and western art, with an eye for beautiful forms and special techniques and skills. Their aim is to bring art and timeless beauty to daily life. Aesthetics, ethics and a connection between nature, culture and intellect are always in a perfect balance. 
Aman New York is a recently opened sanctuary in the iconic Crown Building, a residence in Art Deco style situated in central Manhattan. Before, the Museum of Modern Art was located here, but in the summer of 2022, the building was given a new life. After an impressive transformation by architect Jean-Michel Gathy and his Denniston Studio, the building’s striking architecture and history are fully appreciated. KALPA Galleries did extensive research to provide a collection that contributes to the hotel’s soul and worked closely with their team. In this way, they created a timeless collection of more than one hundred pieces. These works were sensitively integrated into the elegant, minimalist interior.

A wide range of forms, organic textures and warm colours explore the relation between man and nature. The collection, which can be found in the hotel’s private and public spaces, consists of works by international artists. Among those artist, we find Angela Palmarelli (Italy), Annette Wijdeveld (The Netherlands), Benoît Averly (France), Domingos Tótora (Brazil), Claire Frechet (France), Edgar Costa (Portugal), Eleanor Herbosch (Belgium), Elena Vasilantonaki (Greece), Guillem Nadal (Spain), Federico Gori (Italy), Kate Windibank (England), Marco Bellini (Italy), Mitch Iburg (US), Nic Webb (England), Pascal Oudet (France), Patricia Shone (Scotland), Peter Gentenaar (The Netherlands), Peter Speliopoulos (USA), Sabine Pagliarulo (Italy), Ulrike Arnold (Germany), Wycliffe Stutchbury (England) and Yoshimi Futamura (Japan/France). To that impressive list, a number of prestigious names will be added. 
The close collaboration between KALPA Galleries and Aman resulted in a collection that perfectly captures the hotel’s soul. This collection is an inspiring dialogue between the values of both brands and adds extra character to the hotel.
