Imagicasa takes you once again to a design by Framework Studio. Previously, we wrote about an impressive renovation project where they transformed a historic building into an office. Once again, the studio proves that they offer solutions for every project, making the most beautiful furniture and accessories and custom design possible, thanks to their large network.
At the Amsterdam-based agency, called Framework Studio, Thomas Geerlings, Maarten ter Stege and Sascha Faase create interiors that characterise the city. The team provides these interiors for restaurants, retail, offices and private homes. The design studio continuously develops and refines its distinctive and striking design style based on the use of unique materials and craft techniques. They always do their utmost to deliver high-quality interiors through a combination of technical knowledge of the design and interpretation of the client's needs. The studio works closely with clients from start to finish to achieve the desired result. Not only their manual designs, but all computer drawings are also made in-house.
The design brings unity and peace
We take you to their most recent design, a space that previously served as a storage facility for things to be saved for future generations. The project took a year to complete. The client asked for a space that would bring calm and make him forget his busy lifestyle for a while. On top of that, he wanted to be surrounded by things he loves, like his beloved collected cars. The Framework Studio team are car enthusiasts too, so they were happy to incorporate them into the design. The client gave the interior design studio team complete freedom to, within his predefined preferences, design and execute the project in the way they would have done if it were their own project. The design consists of only three different spaces; a concrete-look storage room for documentation, the living room and the car gallery. The spaces are connected by black steel staircases, creating unity and calm. The interior of this project is best described as sober, with an eye for detail and excellent craftsmanship. Here, it is not about the intrinsic value of materials but about the love of simple materials and the artistic way they can be approached. All the furniture is the client's personal favourites that he selected together with the studio, as they shared a passion for design and art. Because Framework Studio placed the focus on the inside of the building and the objects rather than on the architecture and the building, it remained a hidden gem. Each project of the design studio is different, has its own limitations and preferences of the client and a geographical location they have to take into account. This makes each project unique and their own signature never stands for the characteristics of the design, which makes them less recognisable. But this doesn't limit their design possibilities, Framework Studio is free from any restrictions.
