- Interior
In this apartment in Knokke Heist, designed by Nils Van der Celen, there is a serene relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces. The interior designer has achieved this by using natural and high-quality materials, a light colour palette, and by eliminating contrasting elements. The result is a retreat where simplicity and tranquillity predominate.
The studio Nils Van der Celen focuses on total interior projects and renovations, which they realise with the greatest attention to detail and quality. The wishes and the character of the client take a central position, because the studio believes that the interior should be an extension of this. For this reason, they involve the customer throughout the whole process and pay great attention to the dynamic between designer and client. All their designs have a timeless essence and radiate purity and elegance, like the LC apartment.
By choosing a non-neutral wall, you give the space extra dynamics and a distinct character.
To create a natural, serene experience, light oak veneer with vertical grain was chosen as the main material. As a playful variation, ceramic stone and terrazzo stone can also be found in the apartment. The bright kitchen, consisting of a sofa and kitchen island, blends in beautifully with the rest of the interior. In the dining area, your attention is immediately drawn to the back wall made of vertical wooden slats. By choosing such a non-neutral wall, you give the room extra dynamics and a distinct character. These wooden slats can also be found in both bedrooms. In the master bedroom, the bed itself also consists of solid wooden furniture, which makes it seem as if everything is in harmony. Finally, a walk-in shower with microtopping was installed in the children's bathroom. The washbasin unit is made of terrazzo stone, with the different colour flakes that refer to the shells and stones on the beach. In this way, it seems like the outdoor environment is incorporated into the interior. In short, Nils Van der Celen has succeeded in giving this interior a serene and natural character. This, in combination with the beautiful outdoor environment, namely the beaches of Knokke Heist, makes this apartment a real gem. We look forward to seeing the studio's future projects.
