Recently, Ice Design created a comfortable multi-functional living space for YUNĒ in Beijing, China to present a brand new lifestyle in the only 1.7 km2 urban area within Beijing Third Ring Road. The team was able to design a living aesthetic around natural elements and layered space.
The recent project YUNĒ is entered through a gate connected to a series of visual elements, such as a point, line and plane, with folding surfaces at angles. The background wall at the entrance highlights a number of beautiful works of art, which immediately creates a warm welcome. On both sides of the corridor, there are landscape pools with slowly flowing water. A high glass screen made of natural oak and silk gauze curtains guides guests to enter in an organised manner. These symmetrical layered elements and the low-high hall restore the pure humanism in combination with soft tones and light. In the reception hall, the two-way door and the vertical arched panels on either side form a layered background. Opposite the foreign landscape and the green plants, these spatial layers form a visual connection between the near water and the distant landscape. In addition, the tall spatial columns reduce the volume in the form of a cupboard, conveying a comfortable sense of enclosure, combined with rows of bamboo for a natural transition and embrace. With an overall warm tone, the interior architecture retains the typical Chinese simple style. The glass folding doors allow for a direct integration of the indoor and outdoor area. The sand table area is decorated with simple bow planks with wood veneer, as well as the ceilings are made of wood veneer combined with a metal plate, which naturally connects with the walls to express a pure oriental image.
Modern home aesthetics and eastern philosophy
The exhibition and experience space integrates oriental philosophy and modern life aesthetics. YUNĒ is expected to become a powerful humanistic symbol, signifying the embodiment of the future city, the evolution of lifestyle, and also the concrete expression of artistic aesthetics. Imagicasa is already a fan!
