A luxurious apartment complex on the outskirts of Rainbow Beach was designed by the Australian Cottee Parker Architects for the property developer S&S Group. This apartment building is an ode to the rolling lines of the waves and the beach. It will be finished in 2021 but unfortunately there are already no more residences available. Thanks to the visualisations by Third Aesthetic that we show here, the project is already brought to life and we can still discover it.
Cottee Parker Architects is an Australian architectural firm, founded in 1989, that develops projects in consideration with culture, environment and sustainability. The firm is nationally renowned for its studios in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. Through their three decades of experience in urban architecture, the studio created good contacts with local developers. This gave them the opportunity to realise many projects, including the upcoming Flow Residences, an apartment complex with sea views in Rainbow Bay.
Simplicity and openness are the two main factors of the design.
This building consists of twenty-two luxury residences on eleven floors. There are three types of apartments, giving future residents the choice between two, three or four bedrooms. The ground floor is a public floor with a recreation deck, one of the unique assets of the complex, a private restaurant, wine cellars, a gym and lockers for surfboards. On the north side, each residence has an uninterrupted view of Rainbow Beach, which had a major influence on the building's shape. Even the name, Flow Residences, comes from the flow of the ocean. This is reflected in the spacious, deep balconies that seem to flow out of the building. Because of their depth, each terrace is protected from rain and excessive sunlight. The interiors are designed in a soft, tropical atmosphere through the use of bright colours, wicker furniture, light woods and soft grey accents. Simplicity and openness are the two main factors to ensure that the greatest colour accent remains the sea at all times. Compared to the shiny exterior of Flow Residences, the interiors are designed with a more subtle luxury.
