Furniture that is completely in line with your personal style and preferences is something you want to be able to cherish for a long time. Heaps & Woods' range goes for nothing less than that. Using sustainable materials, craftsmen create timeless pieces that help define the future. Thoughtful functionality they complement with a playful character full of ambition.
Marta Jurado and Louis Chagnaud met in Indonesia. That encounter marked the beginning of both a professional and personal relationship. For several years, they have been heading Heaps & Woods together, their own label with which they clearly know what they want to achieve. Where Jurado holds the role of creative director, Chagnaud works as production manager. Each complements the other, and together with a small network of talented craftspeople, they have already come up with surprising designs. Their collections consist of handmade pieces that are clearly emotionally grounded in culture and nature. Out of a shared love of iconic design, the duo developed a clear set of values that they still live up to every day today. On top of that list is transparency. Open communication and honesty are indispensable to them, and following on from that, they also made sustainability a priority from the very beginning. Meanwhile, their network spreads across several places, with professionals in Indonesia, Barcelona as home base and an international clientele. The two founders are fully aware of the importance of the human aspect in their story. They extend that appreciation to their respect for traditional techniques and its fusion with references to mid-century icons. Creativity always seeks an outlet. Jurado and Chagnaud can agree wholeheartedly, as they love every step of the making process. The final pieces may appear obvious and visually fluid, but behind each object is a meticulous process of several steps. Their offerings range from dining room tables to side tables, as well as chairs and decoration. What is striking is how they get the styling absolutely right each time and create an enticing atmosphere on point. As a result, the designs transcend themselves and you instead look at a cohesive whole. Due to the very pronounced use of wood in their collections, the interiors in which the pieces are placed automatically take on a relaxed feel that responds to the overarching philosophy. In addition to their basic collection, the studio is open to custom work. Specifically, clients provide input on a concept they have in mind, and the team then guides and fine-tunes those ideas. A prototype is then created and, after the necessary adjustments, you get your unique piece delivered to your home.
Creativity always seeks an outlet
