Interior designer Nathalie Deboel can call herself a master of balance. Designing meaningful homes is what she excels at, as this project illustrates. Named Balanced Interior, it immediately refers to her ability to develop unity. It is therefore with great admiration that we tell you more about her work.
If a home is to be one thing, it is meaningful. Any client who passes by Deboel will agree. According to her, designing a home is an exercise in insight. It is for this reason that she sees each commission as a kind of portrait of the residents for whom she designs a home. Each creation in her portfolio is a haunting testament to that. This time, she designed a home in Uccle for a couple with diverse interests and characteristics. The goal was to filter that diversity into a certain harmony that both clients could relate to. On the one hand, the designer turned to rugged materials, this with the idea of reflecting one's interest in nature; on the other hand, she incorporated elegant shades of white and rather sophisticated materials to reflect the other. It is not always obvious to unite different things in an appropriate way, but in the past the interior designer has proved several times that she is completely up to that challenge. This time, of course, was no exception.

Often a creative concept has a common thread; here it was the idea of a journey. That notion was of great importance, as it guided the creation process from beginning to end. Central to the house is the staircase, as it takes residents and visitors past various points - and, of course, is simply magnificent. Because the entrance to the house is built fairly low, this element makes an all the greater impression. The sloping lines make it seem as if the structure almost came of its own accord. In addition, we are a big fan of the clear serenity that was carried through to every nook and cranny. The right selection of pleasing design pieces complete the interior and leave no doubt that the residents cannot help but feel at home here.
Interior designer Nathalie Deboel once again did what she excels at: designing harmonious homes that optimally support the identity of the residents. This property is a textbook example of that, and the images do not lie. We are sure we will see many more beautiful things from her hand. Want to see more of this project?
