- Interior
At OKYO, they respond to different requests and wishes. Originally started as an interior design studio in 2009, they now count as much as an established contracting firm that can embrace a project from start to finish. One of their latest designs was named house KL and is a more than suitable culmination of the high standards they consistently pursue.
Functionality and emotion are not adversaries in OKYO's portfolio, quite the contrary. They are convinced that the two just go hand in hand, and prove it in the form of memorable concepts that combine architectural certainty with aesthetic elegance. Naturally, they always act out of their focus on the client, so they do not rest until a design is a more than successful answer to the formulated wishes and expectations. Their current expertise is prepared for all scenarios. More than just design, they are also the appropriate party for custom interior work and finishing techniques. Both structural work and renovation are familiar territory for them, and cooperating with external parties is no problem at all. This time it concerned the total renovation of an existing house in Herk-de-Stad in Limburg. For the residents, it was of great importance that their renovated home would generate a sense of tranquillity and at the same time be able to impress with delicate and refined architecture. To encourage family interaction, the floor plan is deliberately quite open in nature. This simultaneously proved a successful tactic to make the landscaping more involved in the living experience.
The palette had to be timeless without lacking a contemporary quality
As always, much thought went into selecting the materials. The palette had to be timeless without lacking a contemporary quality. In the living space, the dominant wooden beams immediately catch the eye. These were stained dark and balance out the rather modern furniture choices with their authenticity. Note also, for instance, the connecting doors, which help support the rustic impression. Yet the picture was also deliberately kept on the clean side, visually creating a tangible calm. Subtlety was a strong driving force in determining the aesthetics. Among the individual pieces of furniture, you can also spot a personal favourite of the studio, namely the easy chair by the label CASIMIR I JOCHEN MAGYAR. In the kitchen, the main focus was on a balance between approachability and ease of use. Then again, one of the most surprising places in the home is the garage, which has been given a new life. That is to say, its function is now that of a multi-purpose room, meaning that the occupants can use the area according to their evolving needs, ranging from a workshop to an aperitif area. Once again, the OKYO team succeeded in more than satisfying the client. By combining their creative insight with practical knowledge, they arrive at a striking end result every time. This renovation is anything but an exception and makes us look forward to more such successes!

Few things are more exciting for Imagicasa than discovering a fascinating studio that our pen did not write anything about yet. Not only that is the case with OKYO, but we can also welcome them as a new partner.
