Invisible Collection, the leading online gallery for design, welcomes an exceptional exhibition by French designer Thierry Lemaire to their New York City flagship space from 15 May to November. This exhibition marks Lemaire's first solo show in the United States and promises to be an inspiring experience that embodies the essence of French savoir-faire.
A master of his craft, Thierry Lemaire is a highly experienced architect, interior designer and furniture designer. He is known for his refined and simple style, with which he manages to present exceptional projects. His work shows a deep understanding of materials and craftsmanship, and he manages to combine timeless elegance with modern influences.
Invisible Collection and Thierry Lemaire share a long history dating back to the site's debut in 2016. Lemaire was one of the first 10 designers to entrust Invisible Collection with his precious pieces. This exhibition is the result of their longstanding collaboration and is a celebration of their shared passion for decorative arts and exceptional craftsmanship. The exhibition consists of a seamless mix of 17 pieces, ranging from chairs to lighting and tables. Each piece is carefully crafted with noble materials such as oak, marble and bronze. These materials, combined with Lemaire's signature style, create a dreamy atmosphere across the gallery's two floors and more than 1,700 square metres. Lemaire's studio, like Invisible Collection, proudly collaborates with both local and international artisans, ensuring that each piece of furniture carries a unique essence of French decorative art.
Isabelle Dubern-Mallevays, co-founder of Invisible Collection, beautifully articulates the significance of this collaboration: ‘Thierry and I grew up together, we had a passion for decorative art together and he has always understood the vision of Invisible Collection: to offer a curation of the world's best decorators, supported by the talent of exceptional artisans. We are delighted to host Thierry for his first solo exhibition in the United States; it will be a true representation of his signature, timeless French style.’

Throughout his career, Thierry Lemaire has worked on projects ranging from private residences in Paris and Geneva to chalets in Gstaad and the Fendi Casa flagship. He is a connoisseur of the decorative arts of the 20th and 21st centuries, and his distinctive style has made him one of the most recognisable designers of his generation. His striking pieces, such as the Koumac armchair and the Hellmet side table, have become true icons.
About the New York exhibition, Lemaire says: ‘Since day one, our credo has been to create furniture and lighting fixtures that are completely timeless and worthy of our French culture. The collection that will be shown in New York meets these specifications and draws inspiration from our latest favourites such as raw gouged wood or brutalist bronze. Given our long-standing relationship with Invisible Collection and our shared perspective on French design, their gallery in New York was a logical choice for this special moment.’
Thierry Lemaire's exhibition at Invisible Collection in New York is an unmissable event for lovers of design and craftsmanship. It promises to be an inspiring celebration of the timeless elegance and rich traditions of French decorative arts, presented by one of the most talented designers of his generation.
