Summer is an airy, endless dream that takes you to mystical worlds in the sun. Theros All Suite Hotel in Kos, Greece is the tangible form of such an idea. Here you enter a sanctuary based on the concept of slow living and inspired by the glory of Greek architecture.
By approaching local tradition through a modern lens, this family-run business resulted in a harmonious hospitality concept that coexists with nature. More specifically, various sustainable technologies form a considerably large aspect of the hotel's identity. Thermal facades, solar boilers and eco-friendly materials are therefore no strangers to the guests who unwind here at Theros All Suite Hotel. The modern design is based on the principles of traditional architecture and local history. Throughout the design, both inside and outside, public and private, a fresh atmosphere prevails. With Mediterranean gardens at its core, the residence offers green and carefree hideaways that match the idea of taking a break from everyday life. Moreover, the coastal feeling that greets you makes you forget all the grey days that might haunt you. An abundance of light, a slow rhythm, tranquillity and sunshine welcome every guest to the hotel.

The entrance to the main building with its austere stone structure is via a wooden bridge over the water, a reference to Kos' landmark, the medieval castle. The welcoming reception with the monastery table is followed by the surprise of the simple but versatile space and the invitation to the inner paradise of the western terrace with its central pool surrounded by tall palms and olive trees. Visual escapes are also free to the eastern terrace with its row of eucalyptus trees and the beach.

A massive stone wall protects the privacy of the rooms, while minimal narrow openings offer natural cooling. Passing through the castle doors into the common courtyards with the clay pots of basils, you will discover the hidden paradise, with the private pools and tropical vegetation of plants traditionally found in Kos town. All ground-floor suites have private pools and are surrounded by palm and olive trees. In turn, the upstairs suites enjoy large verandas with hammocks and roof gardens. The neutral colours and natural materials in the interiors of the rooms enhance the feeling of relaxation. Theros is a family-run business, the offspring of a creative family. The architect and owner is Ilias Mastrominas, founder of the award-winning studio Mastrominas Architecture. His wife Katerina designed and looks after the hotel's gardens, while their daughter Aspasia welcomes guests. The family considers Theros their home and aims to offer pure Greek hospitality, "Philoxenia" as described in the Homeric poems. You can find more of this hotel in our PURE Hotels book.
